Heavy Duty 162 MHz (Dedicated AIS) Marine Antenna 6dB gain
Most Common Mounting & Adapting Options
All of our HD style antennas mount using a 1” dia. pipe or male nipple adaptor which slides into the base of the antenna and is secured using the 3 stainless steel set screws in the base of the antenna. The bottom of the antenna has a standard SO-239 connector that accepts a standard PL-259 coax connector. You provide the coax cable of the length and size appropriate for your installation. See our recommendations on cable type and lengths. We strongly recommend you use a quality di-electric grease on all RF threaded connections and grease or Teflon tape on mounting threads to prevent corrosion and facilitate future removal.
Ratchet mounting with no extension:
- Morad M91 adaptor (male nipple on top, 1” x 14 female thread bottom)
- Morad M99 Ratchet Mount (or any standard 1” x 14 threaded male mount)
- HD antenna mounts to top of M91
Ratchet mount with stanchion extension pipe:
- 1” diameter stanchion - available in 2, 5, 8 and 10 ft. lengths (V2, V5, V8, V10, V10-2). When using an 8 or 10 ft. stanchion it is recommended having a 2nd point of support like our M6 bulkhead mount.
- M87 Adaptor (female slot on top accepts 1” diameter stanchion, female 1” x 14 thread bottom)
- M99 Ratchet Mount (or any standard 1” x 14 threaded male mount)
Bulkhead mount with stanchion extension pipe:
- 1” diameter stanchion - available in 2, 5, 8 and 10 ft. lengths (V2, V5, V8, V10, V10-2).
- M6 Mount for 1” pipe (sold as pair).
- The M6 Mount is also available in a lay down version (M600) which has a swivel base and upper locking latch allowing your antenna to be laid down for transport or storage.
