Andrew 1180SC HELIAX® EW180 Fixed-Tuned Elliptical Waveguide Connector, 17.7–19.7 GHz, UG-595/U Flange

The Andrew 1180SC is a precision-engineered, fixed-tuned elliptical waveguide connector designed to terminate HELIAX® EW180 and compatible EWP180 elliptical waveguide transmission lines and connect them to microwave equipment equipped with a UG-595/U rectangular waveguide interface.

Operating between 17.7 and 19.7 GHz, the connector provides a low-loss transition between EW180 elliptical waveguide and WR42 (WG20/R220) rectangular waveguide systems.

The connector features a straight, fixed-tuned body that eliminates the need for field tuning adjustments. This design simplifies installation while providing consistent microwave transmission performance when properly installed.

Manufactured from brass with unplated inner and outer contact surfaces, the 1180SC supports both tab-flare and tool-flare attachment methods.

The connector is pressurizable, making it suitable for properly sealed microwave transmission systems using approved waveguide pressurization equipment.

Andrew specifies a typical insertion loss of 0.01 dB and a maximum peak power rating of 7.30 kW at 18.70 GHz.

The 1180SC is suitable for point-to-point microwave radio links, antenna feed assemblies, telecommunications backhaul infrastructure, and other 18 GHz microwave installations requiring an EW180-to-UG-595/U waveguide connection.

The connector is a passive microwave component and does not amplify signals or convert operating frequencies.
