Andrew 241088-4 HELIAX® Standard Grounding Kit for 1-5/8-Inch Coaxial Cable and EW52/EW63 Elliptical Waveguide, 24-Inch Ground Lead

The Andrew 241088-4 is a standard grounding kit designed to provide a reliable electrical bonding connection for 1-5/8-inch corrugated coaxial cable and HELIAX® EW52 and EW63 elliptical waveguide transmission lines.

The kit establishes a low-resistance grounding path between the transmission line's outer conductor and an appropriate grounding system, helping protect RF infrastructure against lightning-induced surges and electrical faults.

The assembly features a 24-inch (609.6 mm) insulated 6 AWG copper grounding conductor with a factory-attached two-hole grounding lug. A copper grounding strap provides electrical contact with the exposed outer conductor of the coaxial cable or waveguide.

Designed for outdoor telecommunications installations, the 241088-4 includes weatherproofing materials consisting of butyl rubber tape and black PVC electrical tape. These materials help protect the completed grounding connection against moisture intrusion and environmental exposure.

The grounding assembly is tested to withstand peak surge currents of 100,000 amperes, according to the manufacturer's published testing specifications.

Compatible transmission lines include 1-5/8-inch corrugated coaxial cable and EW52/EW63 elliptical waveguide, with supported outside diameters ranging from 1.93 to 2.00 inches.

The Andrew 241088-4 is suitable for cellular communications towers, microwave radio installations, broadcast transmission systems, and other outdoor RF infrastructure requiring transmission-line grounding.

The kit includes the grounding assembly, mounting hardware, factory-attached lug, and weatherproofing materials needed for a properly installed grounding connection.
