COMMSCOPE's 7724746-00 Universal Access Point (UAP-X) is the point of signal radiation for the ION-E system and can be wall or ceiling mounted. The UAP incorporates enhanced power over Ethernet (PoE) and is connected to the system via CAT 6a cable. A second RJ45 jack supports 1 GB pass-through or an additional UAP. The UAP-X is functionally identical to the UAP but it is designed to work with external antennas rather than the internal antenna used in the standard UAP. It has two (2) QMA Female antenna ports - transmit (TX) and receive (RX) to connect to external antennas.
