The Icom IAS X-BAND 50 VV is a VHF-to-VHF analog FM repeater system designed to link users operating on different VHF frequencies. Both radio sections cover 136–174 MHz, with 50-watt VHF transmitter output, making it a practical solution for coordinating communications between separate teams or radio systems.
The unit combines radios, a controller, and a power supply in one enclosure, with dual forced-air cooling fans and provisions for 19-inch rack mounting. It also supports desktop operation as a dual base station with an optional microphone. Configurable 120 or 220 VAC input and automatic switchover to a customer-supplied 12-volt backup battery provide flexible power options.
Features include 128 programmable channels organized into eight zones, eight-character alphanumeric channel identification, a backlit LCD and keys, ten scan lists, normal and priority scanning, and a power-on password. Programmable 2-tone and 5-tone signaling supports selective calling and automated functions, while an options connector accommodates applications such as interconnect and CW identification.
